Covid-19 Update
General Information
In the view of the prevailing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Wood Croft Chartered Surveyors feel it necessary to provide a statement explaining how this could impact the property inspection process:
We are delighted that we have returned to physical property inspections but the health and well-being of our colleagues, customers and communities remains our utmost priority. As a result of this, Wood Croft Chartered Surveyors will continue to follow Government, Public Health England and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) advice with regards to travel and visits to occupied properties.
We are committed to the health and safety of everyone we encounter during the inspection process.
We are happy to continue picking up and dropping off keys as is often the case with our Survey and Valuation inspections.
Please note that this information may change as the situation in London, Leeds and the wider United Kingdom changes.
We continue to look forward to working with you, either as a new Client or a pre-existing Client.
What precautions have we implemented?
If any of our team members show Covid-19 symptoms as described in the latest advice provided by the NHS, they will self-isolate. If an appointment has been made to inspect a property and the Surveyor shows potential Covid-19 symptoms before the inspection we will cancel the appointment. Every effort will be made to reschedule the inspection by the next available Surveyor at the same time or at the nearest available slot. In this case the process may be delayed.
To effectively carry out our surveys thoroughly, surfaces in properties will inevitably be handled. Subject to availability, all our surveyors will wear disposable gloves that will be used immediately before entering your property.
What to expect during your survey or valuation inspection?
- Unfortunately, if anyone in the household is self-isolating, showing symptoms of Covid-19 or has been diagnosed with Covid-19 our Surveyor will not be able to carry out the survey and it will need to be rebooked for a later date.
- Ensure that the following are open before the Surveyor arrives at your property:
- All internal doors, including any garages or outbuildings.
- Windows should be opened to provide sufficient ventilation and avoid contact with windows.
- Where possible the loft hatch should be open.
- All lights should be on to minimise the need for contact with light switches and hard surfaces.
- If you are unable to leave the house while the Surveyor is inspecting the property, please wait in the Living Room for the duration of the inspection. If this is not possible you should follow the Surveyors instructions until they ask you to move to allow them to inspect that room.
- Please ensure all pets are kept restrained or isolated away from the Surveyor during the inspection.
- Always maintain social distancing measures of at least 2 metres and refrain from any physical contact. Our Surveyors will not shake hands and will be wearing appropriate PPE.
- Please follow published guidelines for your part of the Country.
- Follow good hygiene when coughing or sneezing.
